About

Forage Journal is a quarterly digital publication exploring themes of nature, creativity, and sustainability. They asked us to design and build a minimal, yet expressive website that allowed their stories and photography to shine.

We created a custom editorial layout system and typography-forward design, ensuring each issue felt immersive and beautifully curated.

Challenges

Forage had a strong visual language but lacked a coherent digital space to host their content. The challenge was in translating long-form articles and rich imagery into a clean, intuitive web experience without overwhelming the reader.

We also needed to consider accessibility and responsive behavior to ensure readers could enjoy the journal across devices.

Results

The new site boosted average time on page by 60%, indicating deeper reader engagement. Editors were thrilled with the ease of uploading and formatting content through the custom CMS.

Forage has since seen increased subscriber numbers and social shares, and their readers consistently comment on the calm and clarity of the new design.
